Movie Review: Past Tense

Regretting certain decisions she made in her life two decades ago, Ai Ai Delas Alas' character is seen transported several years back to meet her self as Kim Chiu through the magical powers of Benjie Paras' character. Ai Ai Delas Alas is set out on a mission to convince her younger self (Kim Chiu) to give her best friend, portrayed by Xian Lim, a chance to win her heart over and hopefully end up together in the future.

The 3rd team up in movie of the blockbuster love team Kim Chui and Xian Lim in a film that will make you cry and laugh at the same time, Past Tense. Of all the 3 films that KimXi did this is one for me is my favorite and I like the most. I loved every minute of the film. If the scene intends to be funny it will really make you laugh same goes with the confrontation scenes that truly heart felt and will affect you. KimXi has already developed their chemistry as onscreen loveteam as it shows evidently in the film their spark, closeness and charm.

I can say that Kim Chui already master her talent in comedy.

I like the story, editing and treatment of the film. This is one of my favorite Star Cinema movie this year. I reall enjoy watching the film and got affected by the story. It also got positive response from the audience na tuwang tuwa habang pinapanood ang pelikula. I also like the theme song Hey It's Me sung by Juris na nakadagdag ng kilig sa movie. Ang ganda ng pelikula and worth your time spent inside the cinema. A well made romcom film from Mae Cruz Alvar and I think one of her best film that she’ve done. So kung gusto niyong kiligin, umiyak, at tumawa sa loob ng sinehan, watch this quality local romantic comedy film. An engaging, wildly entertaining and extremely funny movie. A pitch-perfect combination of romantic and comedy. A heart-warming film that delivers big with heart and wonderful performances from Kim, Xian and Aiai. Two thumbs up for the film.

My Verdict:  4/5
