Movie Review: Esoterika: Maynila

In a voyage of self-discovery, Mario (Liang’s character), alternately ingenious and ingenuous, plunges into the territory of the exalted, the charmed and the bizarre, swimming through the uncharted waters of the unique Filipino mystique. The film’s multilingual cast is a convergence of Manileños of cross-cultural persuasions.

I would like to commend the screenplay of the film because they’ve been able to inject humor despite the heaviness of the story. So papasa na ang pelikula as dark comedy. The film depicts the life and realities of people in the province that migrated in Manila. The film shows what a good looking guy from the province life’s awaits here in Manila. Madaming na tackle na elements of life about here in Manila like relationship, arts, culture, and values. You will see a different perspective of Manila here not the usual topic that we always see like poverty, corruption and prostitution.

My Verdict:  3.5/5
