Movie Review: Tuhog

Due to a road rage between two buses, an accident occurs which puts the lives of its passengers in jeopardy. But the ones greatly affected by such event are a middle-aged woman named Fiesta (Eugene Domingo), an old retired family patriarch Tonio ( Leo Martinez), and a lad named Caloy (Enchong Dee). These three people are pierced through a single steel bar - a dangerous situation that even their doctors find hard to solve. But even these unfortunate circumstance, these three have their share of ill-fated lives. Through one horrible mishap, the lives of Fiesta, Tonio and Caloy get tied together. Who will be give another chance to live and make things right. And whose life is really bound to end?

The movie has a good material that is not usually tackle in a mainstream film. The tone of the movie is light drama that tackles the pieces of life of different range of age of person. Maayos na nailahad ang kwento ng pelikula simle ang paglalahad ng kwento ng tatlo realistic na maaring mangyari sa totoong buhay. This movie will somehow help you reflect on your current situation in life na maaring pinagdaanan, pinagdadaanan at pagdadaanan mo pa lang.

Simple lang ang atake sa bawat eksena at na appreciate ko ang makabagong style at approach sa cinematography that includes the camera movements and position. Acting wise well-acted ang lahat ng mga actors. Special mention to Ms. Eugene Domingo na nagpakita kakaibang lalim sa pag arte at ibang Uge ang makikita niyo rito dahil seryoso at drama ang kanyang role na nagampanan niya ng mahusay. At masasabi ko rin na ang haba ng hair niya dahil head over heels sa kanya si Jake rito na maraming mga babae at bading na maiinggit sa kanya. Jake also delivers here in the movie tamang emosyon at hindi overacting. For Enchong Dee as usual mahusay very natural and he has good supporting actors Joe Vargas and Rodjun Cruz. Nacutan din ako sa episode ni Leo Martinez about  sa pagiging senior citizen together with his kabarkada, ang ganda lang tignan ng apat na matatanda that still have their solid friendship and bonding thru playing cards.

Tungkol doon sa kasagutan na kung sino ang dapat na mabuhay ito ay wala sa kamay ng mga doctor o kahit na sinong mga tao nakapaligid sa kanila. Kung hindi sa pagkakataon kung sino ang mas kritikal at that time of the accident so ginamitan ng technical explanation from a doctor’s view yung probability and chances based doon sa tama ng tatlo kung sino ang makakaligtas so hindi sa edad at sa pinagdaanan sa buhay. So tama naman reality check still nakadepende pa rin sa science and biological response ng katawan ng tao kung mabubuhay pa siya o hindi. So ang clue kung sino ang nabuhay sa 3 ay yung may pinaka konti ang sugat at tama on the time of the accident. Medyo nabigatan lang  ako sa ending ng movie that it takes time for me bago makabitiw doon sa pangyayari dahil ang namatay doon sa 3 ay iyon pang may pinakamalungkot na buhay para sa akin so parang ang sakit sakit lang kasi ganun na nga ang buhay niya siya pa yung nawala. The movie is  worth of your time to watch it will help you reflect and appreciate more the value of your life.
