My Forecast for Cinemalaya 2013

For the Short Films based on the trailer malakas ang dating sa akin ng Onang, Katapusang Labok and Missing.

Katapusang Labok was already feature on Cannes Short Films Corner, Pukpok on MMFF New Wave Short Films and Onang will be feature on Cinefilipino Shorts

For the Director’s Show case based on the trailer I would like to watch Sana Dati and Ekstra.  Sana Dati dahil the movie looks like na modern romance yung theme ng film tapos parang may touch pa ng Hollywood or western yung feel ng film parang di siya gawang pinoy ganun, plus factor pa na bida sina Lovi and Paulo that my personal favorites pati na rin si Benkamin Alves.

 

Ekstra dahil nagustuhan ko ang trailer parang kwela ang movie, may kwento ang pelikula na ipapakita ang buhay ng mga ekstra that is something new and ofcourse dahil na rin kay Ms. Vilma Santos na isa sa premyadong aktres nag ating bansa na unang beses sasabak sa Cinemalaya.

Syempre papahuli ba ang Porno ni Adolf Alix for sure may pasabog ito tulad na lang ng entry niya last year na Kalayaan sa trailer kasi ng Porno di masyadong given kung anon yung itatakbo ng movie so that its something for us to watch for. The mukhang kakaiba din ang kwento ng Amor Y Muerte at aabangan din kung talagang mag fofrontal si Markki Stroem.

For the New Breed I am excited to watch Babagwa, The Diplomat Hotel and Rekorder. Babagwa because of Alex Medina period. The Diplomat Hotel dahil mukhang kakaibang atake ang ginawa rito for a horror film and first time ata na nagkaroon ng horror ang Cinemalya. Rekorder dahil kaabang abang yung plot ng movie and the fact that it was directed by the youngest filmmaker for this year Michael Red.

 

Sa labanan ng pagka best actress at best actor it depends sa bigat ng role at sa husay ng aktor at aktres kung sino ang makakasungkit nito. For Director’s Showcase Best Actress, it would be between Alessandra De Rossi, Angel Aquino, Althea Vega, Lovi Poe and Vilma Santos. But I think it would be Ms. Vilma Santos then darkhorse sina Angel Aquino or Althea Vega. For Best Actor its between Carlo Aquino, Yul Servo, Paulo Avelino, and Markki Stroem.

 

For New Breed Best Actress I think its between Gretchen Baretto, Eugene Domingo, Nadine Samonte, Barbra Miguel and Jasmin Curits . Best Actor would be between Ping Medina, Ronie Quizon, Paulo Avelino, Mimi Juareza, Jake Cuenca, and Alex Medina

 

For supporting performers Director’s show case could be Benjamin Alves, TJ Trinidad, Ria Garcia, Adrian Sebastian, Ama Quiambao, Arnold Reyes,  and Sue Prado and for New Breed could be Joey Paras, Art Acuna, Mon Confiado, Joel Torre, Arnold Reyes, Irma Adlawan, Angeli Bayani

For the Best Director Award Director’s Showcase it could be Jerrold Tarog, Adolfo Alix Jr. and Jefrey Jeturian. For New Breed it could be Christopher Ad Castillo, Alvin Yapan, Mikhail Red and Hannah Espia.

For Best Picture Director’s Showcase it could be Ekstra or Porno. For New Breed it could be Debosyon, Transit or Nuwebe.

So kitakits na lang folks at CCP this July 26- Aug 4 2013. Mabuhay ang Cinemalaya 2013!
