Set in a remote province at the onset of Martial law in the early 1970s, the story revolves around the free-spirited and newly widowed Marilou who inherits their town’s only barbershop from her husband - a business that has been passed down by generations of men in her husband’s family. Having no other means to support herself, she musters the courage to run the barbershop, a traditionally male trade. However, despite the skills she gained from years of observation and being an assistant to her husband, as a female barber she fails to attract any customers. Nevertheless, things take an unexpected turn when Marilou gains the trust of other women in her community.

Relaks, It's Just Pag-ibig Trailer

Movie Review: A Thief, A Kid and A Killer

Eternal optimist and born loser, Nico, enlists his gun slinging cousin, Lloyd and a sketchy group of dirty cops led by Oscar, into what is supposed to be a life-changing diamond heist. It all goes terribly wrong. Oscar and his crew attempt a double-cross during the robbery. Nico and Llyod barely escape with their lives and hide out in an apartment taking Maximo, a ten-year old, self-proclaimed genius hostage. Nico and Lloyd’s composure begin to crack but Maximo's optimistic view on life --albeit naïve-- about the troubles in his own life gives both thieves a moment of pause. With Oscar and his crew closing in on them each thief must choose what lengths he will take to survive—a decision that will change Maximo's life forever.

Movie Review: Mauban ang Resiko

A family in Cagbalete island ekes out their living through wine-making, fishing and charcoal-making. Matriarch/widow SUSAN moonlights as a resort masseuse. Her second son JUNIOR is into lapu-lapu fish-raising, while her daughter LOTA and husband DUDUT are into wine-making.

A daily fare, ‘resiko’ treat has become a threat to the family’s fight for survival.

Movie Review: Memories of Overdevelopment ( Unang Balikbayan)

For thirty years, Tahimik has been working on a film about Enrique of Malacca, the Malayan slave owned by Magellan who may have been the first person to circumnavigate the globe.

Movie Review: Virgin People

Three sisters live in a paradise where men are metaphorically and literally serpents of temptation. Their father takes his three daughters deep into the woods, far from the nearest town. He dies, leaving the girls educated enough to read from the Bible, ignorant enough to allow men to take advantage of them.

Movie Review: Edna

The movie Edna is a unique take about real and imagined fears of overseas Filipino workers, as characterized by Edna (Irma Adlawan). Staged in three parts- Oro (Edna’s arrival), Plata (Edna’s discovery) and Mata (Edna’s resolve)- the film attempts to walk the audience from a thrilling arrival to an astonishing departure.
