The end of the year is here, meaning it’s now time to definitively celebrate the finest movies that made their way to the cinema and art house. Play adaptation, modern crime suspense thriller up to family oriented, creative telling of history and love story summarize my pick of the best Filipino films of the year. No matter their budgets, scale, or subject matter, each of my selection had something to offer the cinephile or the regular viewers. A total of 100 local films (up by 1 last year) that I've seen and made a review this year from different film festivals, theatrical run and special screening. I'll bring to you my own pick of best Filipino films for 2017.
