A
 documentarist’s son goes missing when she films a story on the 
disappearances of the firstborns in a remote island. Her search reveals 
the presence of a cult and an abductor who looks like her, whom her son 
claims to be his real mother.
Medusae
 totally nails a well made mystery film that flawlessly woven its 
original concept to its story. Pam Miras knows exactly what she’s trying
 to achieve in this film and she delivers. I like how the mother son 
story interweave to a mythological and folklore story. The film will not
 only linger its visual treat and originality but also its statement of 
being a parent. Dense with layers of story that are properly woven, 
Medusae is one of the interesting local films that I’ve seen 2017.
