Ang Larawan - A Masterpice Musical Stageplay Film Adaptation To Watch For In MMFF 2017

Ang Larawan The Movie is the film adaptation of the stage musical based on National Artist Nick Joaquin's "Portrait of the Artist As Filipino" translated and directed by National Artist Rolando S. Tinio with music by Ryan Cayabyab initially presented in 1997 in Cultural Center of the Philippines to rave reviews and SRO audiences.

Larawan is an ode to the passing of the world of truth and beauty and a celebration of the tenacity of the spirit amidst the rise of materialism and consumerism.

To bring the life this passion project, Culturtain Musical Production has put together a most awesome group of Filipino singers and musicians ever assembled for a local motion picture.

Heading the cast are: West End sensation Joanna Ampil as Candida, multi-awarded recording star Rachel Alejandro as Paula, and acclaimed hearthrob Paulo Avelino as Tony Javier. With them are OPM stalwarts Celeste Legaspi, Dulce and Nanette Inventor; luminaries of film and stage Robert Arevalo, Nonie Buencamino, Menchu Lauchengco-Yulo, Noel Trinidad, Leo Rialp, and Bernardo Bernardo; veteran actor and musical director Jaime Fabregas; and the new "lodis" of Philippine entertainment and music Aicelle Santos, Cris Villonco, Cara Manglapus, Jojit Lorenzo and Rayver Cruz. Portraying very special roles are OPM icons Ogie Alcasid and ZsaZsa Padilla.

Watch as the cast share their wonderful experience being part of the masterpiece musical film "Ang Larawan"

As Ang Larawan assembles dream cast of musical artists surely there is going to be plenty of "biritan" and "kantahan" in this Metro Manila Film Festival 2017 official entry. Filipino audiences will see and hear this musical extravaganza when "Ang Larawan" opens on Christmas Day.
