Middle-aged
couple Antonio (Vic) and Andrea Balatbat (Dawn) try their best to raise
their three children,Christian (JC Santos), Alex (Gabbi Garcia), and
Riley (Baby Baste). The Balatbats have a perfect family setup despite
the fact that the couple was only forced by their parents to get married
when they were younger. These and other issues arise through the years,
creating challenges and hardships that threaten the harmony within the
family and eventually lead to a point where the couple, realizing that
they never really loved each other, decides to separate in order to find
themselves.
This
decision breaks their children’s hearts and they devise way to get
their parents back together again despite both finding new respective
partners. It has become their mission to get their parents to fall in
love.
This is the best film of Vic Sotto that I've seen in recent years. I did not expect that I'm going to like his MMFF entry this year. The humor is different from the previous films that he did and the story focus on the family ties and values. Good thing that he levels up this time with this family oriented film. You never get wrong with kids as the new child wonder Baste is the heart and charm of the film. The rest of the cast also did well in the film from JC Santos, Gabbi Garcia, Dawn Zulueta up to Ruru Madrid, Sue Ramirez and Andrea Torres. Good job for the director Chris Martinez for giving a new face to a Vic Sotto's comedy film. The entertainment value is still there and a this is a good film to watch by family this season
My Verdict: 3.5/5
