Movie Review: Paki

After five decades of marriage, Alejandra wants to separate from her husband Uro. And so Alejandra visits her children, one by one, to notify them and ask for their blessing. But the children are now busy with their own lives; one daughter, even busy with an election campaign. But when her youngest and dearest daughter contracts a heart attack, the entire family is forced to gather in a hospital where, together, they must face the separation.

Paki is not your typical family drama that you will see on the big screen. Paki should be praised for the intelligent way that it composes a whole fascinating ensemble cast in which each character is one of your family member that you have. An insightful film with fluid story that is so well balanced with drama and comedy with eccentric characters that shows astute understanding of our need to be loved. One of the film that you didn’t  realize that your tears are falling and for sure you’ll hug and kiss your parents, grand parents and loved ones after watching this film.

My Verdict: 4.5/5
