Movie Review: Status It's Complicated

Two roommates with opposing views on relationships decide to trade lifestyles: the more conservative of the two will try playing the field, and the playboy will try to commit to a more serious relationship.

A remake of the 80’s movie Salawahan. A refreshing attack and take of that 80’s movies integrated with the present culture and technology.
 

Maayos at maganda ang pagkakagawa ng pelikula. Maayos ang pagkakasulat sa pelikula. Talagang kapansin pansin at alam mong pinag isipan ang mga napakahabang dialogue at witty screenplay ng pelikula. Glossy yung look ng movie. Talagang madetailed ang movie in terms of production design na makikita mo from the wardrobe of the actor up to the high end props and location of the film.

If there is one thing that’s commendable in the film is the script dahil madialogue masyado yung pelikula and its effective to relay the story and intention of the film. Screenplay is commendable as well. Napakahusay ng pagkakasulat ng pelikula dahil napakalaman ng dialogue at nakakatawa pa. It’s a good job for direk Chris Martinez for a well written and directed film na nagawang niyang ibalance at maexecute ang kanyang naisulat.

For the acting performance if there some one na nagshine dito I think its Paulo Avelino and Jake Cuenca dahil sa kanilang 2 umikot yung story. It’s very refreshing na gumawa ng isang feel good na movie si Paulo Avelino dahil kaya din pala niyang magpatawa dahil naipakita niya rito ang range ng kanyang acting ability na hindi lang siya pangdrama dahil may ibibuga din siya sa comedy at very natural at mahusay ang pagkakaganap niya rito. He is truly the finest actor that we have today. In fairness to Jake Cuenca e bumagay sa kanya yung role kaya lumabas na natural yung atake niya rito. Ofcourse Maja Salvador is also good here I know na kayang kaya niya ring magcomedy. A very light Maja Salvador can you see here at ang ganda niya rin dito. Solen is ok fit sa kanya yung role. Eugene Domingo has a crazy character here na talaga namang laugh trip ang kanyang bawat eksena. Kaloka din yung bed scene nila ni Paulo.

So finally muling nakagawa ang Regal Films ng magandang pelikula that has a potential of a good box office.

If you reflect on the film it will make you realize the current trend or practice that we have in making a relationship to someone whether you are a loyal boyfriend or girlfriend or a playboy or playgirl. But at the end of the day what matter is what makes you happy and you know how to face the consequence of your depravity. A light romantic comedy love story that surely you can relate to.
