Movie Review: Call Center Girl

Teresa "Terry" Manlapat (Pokwang), an Overseas Filipino Worker (OFW) had been away from her family for 13 years, to help support their needs by working in a cruise ship. She comes back, only to find out that her husband just passed away. She is also faced with the problem of reuniting with her children, who had been terribly affected by the absence of a mother for many years.

An early Christmas treat of Skylight and Star Cinema that surely will laugh your heart loud. An effective comedy mainstream film na kuwa ang pulso ng masa. Its laughing all the way sa loob ng sinehan. At ang sarap lang ganung environment sa loob ng sinehan na masaya ang mga tao. Puno din ang sinehan both balcony and orchestra so for sure this will gonna be a box office hit I bet more than 50 million ang total gross nito.

Expectation on the film, meets more than my expectation so I did not expect na maeenjoy ko yung film. I know that Pokwang is funny pero nakadagdag din yung good screenplay para matawa ka pa sa mga eksena. So good job for the writer and director of the film. At least this is different flavor of comedy that we usually watch on a Wenn De Ramas film. Ofcourse plus factor ang lahat ng cast ng films na nakadagdag ng saya ng pelikula.

Pokwang has finally made her first solo comedy film and this is a good one. Mahusay si Poki sa pelikulang ito. Panalo yung mga supporting casts from K Brosas – alam mo na to John Lapus – panalo din ang punchline to Ogie Diaz to Elevator Girl na panalo yung bloopers sa ending ng film and others. Jessy Mendiola is pretty and good in the film at mukhang siya na nga ang next big thing ng ABS at Star Cinema at ginigroom talaga as the next leading lady. Enchong Dee as expected is great.

The film is worth watching for if you want to laugh out loud and forget your problem for 2 hours. You should not miss this comedy film for the family.

My Verdict: 3/5
