Movie Review: Alamat Ni China Doll

Helen lives with her grandmother in an idyllic island down south, at 25, she’s about to graduate from high school and start a new life. Things take a drastic turn when a journalist publishes an article about "China Doll."

A very refreshing take of drama, action and suspense in one film. First of all the plot is interesting, 2nd the casts are good combination of the great actors and actresses and third the film used a non-traditional way of telling a story. This is the 2nd film in the festival na gumamit ng reverse story telling. Even though malinis pa rin ang pagkakagawa ng pelikula at maiintindihan mo.

For the artists performance this is the 3rd film that could win an ensemble award for acting. Angelica Panganiban sa isang mapangahas at malalim na pagganap. Madaming ginawa sa kanya rito na di pa natin napapanood. It’s a tough role for Angelica. Malakas din ang laban niya for Best Actress neck to neck fight with Alessandra De Rossi. Mr. Philip Salvador is very intense on his acting same with Cesar Montano. Ms Cherry Pie Picache presence in the film means a lot. Ms. Anita Linda and Carlo Aquino are also good. Screenplay, Editing, Production Design, AND DOP are great. Maganda ang totality of the film. Another film that you should not miss this festival.

My Verdict:  3.5/5

Mr Philip Salvador and Direk Adolf Alix @ premiere of Alamat ni China Doll

Angelica Panganiban @ premiere of Alamat ni China Doll

Philip Salvador @ premiere of Alamat ni China Doll
