#Y is a coming-of-age film that aims to define millennials with teen suicide, social media, sex, drug, and alcohol as backdrop. #Y is one of the official entry of Cinemalaya this year and won an ensemble acting award for all of its cast. #Y is not your typical barkada movie and will shows this youth generation's life. You may check this link for my review of the film as I been able to watch its premiere on Cinemalaya. #Y is one of my favorite entry in Cinemalaya this year, watchable film by mainstream audience and box-office hit in Cinemalaya 2014. No wonder the film will have its commercial screening. #Y will have commercial showing beginning December 10, 2014, released by Star Cinema. "#Y" ("Hashtag Y") chronicles the adventures of the members of a generation made universal by the realms of social media, the internet, sex, drugs and alcohol, and the occasional party and bullshit.
Elmo Magalona is cast as Miles, a junior college student living a seemingly normal life. On the eve of his attempted suicide, a call from his best friend (Coleen Garcia), to tell him about his latest sexcapade, eventually renders the attempt useless.
