Movie Review: Mga Alalala ng Tag-Ulan

A coming-of-age love story about a young man’s first encounter with love, romance, and heartbreak, told in bits and pieces of poetic and melancholic memories that begin one rainy night.

I think the treatment is successful enough upang maipakita ang emosyon at mensahe ng pelikula. The style is something new for us audience to envive, it’s not the usual coming of age of story that we used to watch to.

I would like to commend the writers of the film as they’ve been able to give life to the poem of Santi. Maganda ang sinematograpiya ng pelikula, the angle and the shot was good. A minor flaw of the film is yung live sound para kasing halatang dubbing lang ang lahat nawala yung pagiging authentic ng eksena minsan. Though siguro it was done in that way dahil continuous musical scoring nga ang ginawa all throughout the film kaya mahirap singitan ng live sound. Ofcourse musical scoring is good; it is consistent at nagiiba din ang tone depende sa mood ng eksena

For artist performance, Akihiro Blanco is a promising actor; the film is a good launching vehicle for him. Mocha Uson, good for her that she’ been able to town down her loud personality in this film. You will see a preserved Mocha Uson here with of course still having oozing sex appeal. All of the supporting casts are good from Issa Litton that’s very effective on her character, Mon Confiado with no lines in the filml but you will feel the emotion within, Lance Raymundo, an effective villain in the film, Ria Garcia that so damn pretty in the film and shows anks on her character up to Pio Balbuena as good comic relief and support to Aki.

Just go with the flow of movie, sundan mo lang  ang musika at ikaw mismo ay madadala at mararamdaman ang pinagdadaanan ni Santi. A good film to watch to especially for all hopeless romantic.

My Verdict:  3/5
