By Archie Liao

For Bb. Pilipinas Universe Maxine Medina, it’s a joy when a veteran and award-winning screenwriter-director compliments her for her passion for acting. Actually, his director Jose Javier Reyes was charmed by her sense of professionalism and willingness to learn.

In an interview, he also said that with the right project and of course, with her talent and right attitude, she can become a great star. “Nakaka-flatter po siya. Kasi, coming from an award-winning director, malaking bagay po siya sa akin,” Maxine said. “Bilang isang baguhan, I’m glad na naipasa ko siya,” she added.

According to Maxine, it’s one the best compliments that she has received and she’s more inspired to prove her worth in show business. “Inspirasyon po siya para pagbutihin pa ang craft ko. Gusto ko siyang isiping challenge siya para sa akin para pagbutihin pa ang ginagawa ko,” she pointed out.

She’s also ecstatic that she’s entrusted by her producers a major role in her first acting job. “Masarap na isipin na eto iyong first movie ko and yet, pinagkatiwalaan na agad nila ako ng major role, so I’m very thankful to my producers Boss Orly and also TRex,” she said.

She also clarified that acting in a movie was not just a one-shot deal.

“Tingnan natin kung may mga magaganda pang offers, why not?”, she said. “It’s something na gusto kong gawin at hindi lang subukan,” she added. In "Spirit of the Glass 2: The Haunted", Medina plays the role of a diva star who gets embroiled in terror after playing a game of Ouija with her friends played by Cristine Reyes and Ashley Ortega. Also in the cast are Janine Gutierrez, Benjamin Alves, Teri Malvar, Daniel Matsunaga, Aaron Villaflor, Dominic Roque and Enrico Cuenca.

She also shed on light on the rumor that she and her model boyfriend Marx Topacio have already parted ways. “That’s not true po,” she said. She also said that she’s open to the idea of working with him in the future.

“Open po ako pero hindi siguro sa ngayon. Mas maganda sigurong mahasa muna po kami sa mga acting projects at sa mga workshops,” she concluded. Produced by Octoarts Films in cooperation with T-Rex Entertainment, “Spirit of ther Glass: The Haunted” said to be the “scariest movie of the year” opens in cinemas nationwide on November 1.
