Movie Review: Watch List

After her husband is mysteriously killed in the drug wars of the Philippines, a widowed mother of three must confront her own darkness to protect her children from further harm.

Written and directed by the Hollywood-based filmmaker Ben Rekhi. He described Watch List as a “hybrid” production. The Tagalog film entirely shot in Manila is a collaboration of cinema artists from the US and Philippines. It is backed by Hollywood-based company XYZ Films which is the movie’s executive producer.

Movie Review: James and Pat and Dave

James and Pat and Dave, a coming of age  love story, is a sequel to the hit romantic comedy movie of 2016, Vince and Kath and James.’

Still helmed by director Theodore Boborol, the film revolves on what it takes and how it feels to become unchosen, which in this case is experienced by Ronnie’s character, James Raymundo, coming from the prequel.

The heart headed guy is exiled by his grandmother as a hostel employer. There, he meets the assistant manager Pat Reyes (Loisa Andalio), who is assigned to train him.

In a game of cat and mouse, Pat who also does online vegetable selling to fully support her brother tries to straighten James up while he tries to get out of doing the hardwork. James finds an opportunity to make Pat recommended a raise for him when she needs him to pretend to be her boyfriend to get rid of her returning ex, Dave Verona, portrayed by Donny Pangilinan.

As the discover the rejected souls behind their banters and bravado, they find themselves fallling in  love for real. Will James be chosen this time?
