Movie Review: Just The Way You Are

Drake Sison (Enrique Gil) is a boy who loves to win – so when he loses in a bet with friends, he’s determined to make up for it – through another one. He needs to make a girl fall in love with him in 30 days. But she’s not just any other girl, she’s Sophia Taylor (Liza Soberano), a nerdy transferee who isn’t into playing games. In the end, whose heart will be played? Who will win in this game of love? “Just The Way You Are” is the movie adaptation of Kimberly Joy Villanueva’s pop fiction book “The Bet.”

It's so refreshing to see Enrique Gil's charm and Liza Soberano's rawness on the big screen with their initial movie offering as loveteam for the movie adaptation of the best selling book "The Bet". The story and treatment are usual but LizQuen has been manage to gave a fresh take on giving us a touching, exciting and entertaining film. Yves Flores' comical sidekick acting works as well as Sue Ramirez affectionate acting. The barkada supporting cast, Alex, Marco, Jon, Erin, Myrtle and Chienna are also enjoyable to watch. Overall, the film has enough charm and humor to keep it appealing to a wide audience. A fairly made youth romantic comedy feel good film.

My Verdict: 3.5/5
