QCinema International Film Festival invites Southeast Asian filmmakers to participate in the newest addition to its festival lineup.
The new QC-SEA Shorts Competition gives opportunities to filmmakers of the region to showcase their work in one of Southeast Asia’s premier festivals.
The competition is open to all Southeast Asian filmmakers ages 18 years old and above with short films produced from January 2022 to August 2023.
Chosen entries will have its Philippine premiere at the 11th edition of QCinema slated from November 17 to 26, 2023 and will participate in the competition with more than 5,000 USD in prizes up for grabs.
The short films must have a total running time of at least twenty minutes, including the opening and closing credits. Any form of genre will be expected including documentary, experimental, and narrative. Non-English language film submissions must include English subtitles.
Submitted films should not be available in any streaming platforms accessible in the Philippines, free or paid.
Only the film’s directors are allowed to enter and only 1 entry per director will be allowed by the festival.
To join, the director must fill out an entry form and submit with a synopsis of the film, his or her biography, a headshot, a copy of the poster, and a link to its screener.

QC-SEA Shorts Competition is the festival’s second shorts competition program and the second competition program for Southeast Asian filmmakers.
