Movie Review: Yours Truly, Shirley

Yours Truly Shirley marks the return of Regine Velasquez to the big screen playing the eponymous widow of the title who hasn’t quite moved on from the untimely death of her husband in a motorcycle accident and her grief is making her do funny things, like imagining the newest pop sensation sweeping the country is the reincarnation of her dead husband. But is it really all in her head? And just how far will she go to prove it isn’t?

Yours Truly, Shirley serves it purpose to be the most mainstreamish and enjoyable film to watch in this year’s Cinema One Originals. As expected Regine Velasquez is comfortable on her performance as a crazy fan girl with hidden baggage inside. I don’t have much expectation on this film so I just enjoyed watching it and grateful that Regine has been able to comeback on silver screen in a light comedy film that usually not showcased in an independent film festival.

My Veridict:  3/5
