Nilalang tackles the underbelly of corrupt Philippine cops with the
Japanese ‘Yakuza’ and its links to a centuries’ old curse that may be
responsible for the spate of serial killings happening in Manila.
Kudos to the production value of the film. I love the style and feels of the opening scene. The highlight of the film is its incredible production design, remarkable cinematography and amazing fight scenes. As expected Meg Imperial never fails to deliver in her character, Cesar Montano is good and Maria Ozawa is pleasant to watch on a silver screen.
The film would be better if they dig in more in the screenplay and story development but overall its a decent movie to watch in this festival.
