Movie Review: Island Dreams

An underprivileged Filipina dreams of becoming a singer meets an American vacationer heading to the island looking for a one night stand, both ultimately finding something else. As the two embark on the journey, they both find themselves gravitating towards the promise of that true love. But will they be brave enough to realize that the myth and the place and their own pains actually make them vulnerable to something beyond their control? And whether it is true love or not, they will both have to journey from the head to the heart.

The films shows us the whirlwind romance between a foreigner and a tourist guide. The film about love on how to experience and live with it. Smooth yung flow ng film. And I appreciate the cinematography of the film. It's highly commendable. Bawat shot pinag isipan talaga. Well capture yung mga beautiful scenery of the place. Hindi na bago yung story but because of the good shot of every scene that makes this film different and shine more.

For the artist's performance. Louise is a natural actress. Bumagay sa kanya yung role and she justify her character. Chanel's performance here is a scene stealer that adds more life in the film by her witty character. Ms. Irma as expected delivers well as a supportive mother to Louise. Alexis Petiprez (French Actor) gave a sincere performance here from drama up to comedy. There's a certain depth in his acting. All in all the film has a good story to tell about giving us hope to find our true love.

My Verdict: 3/5
