Movie Review: The Last Pinoy Action King - Opening Film of QCinema International Film Festival

The Last Pinoy Action King , a biography film by Australian filmmakers Andrew Leavold and Daniel Palisa. The Last Pinoy Action King shows the different facets of the late film royalty Rudy "Daboy" Fernandez. A multi-awarded Filipino actor and producer, Fernandez was considered to be the next “Da King” Fernando Poe Jr. Fernandez on the big screen. But everything changed when “Daboy” succumbed to cancer at the age of 56 in 2008.

The Last Pinoy Action King is a throwback of the action flick of 1980's to 1990's. It commemorates an action star that truly become the legend of the Philippine Cinema, Rudy Daboy Fernandez. He is not only a great actor but a loving family person, real brother to the actors guild and a hero to his huge fans. The documentary also shows the history of the Philippine Cinema and how the action stars reflect the lives of  Filipino. Overall this documentary film is a remarkable way of knowing a film icon.

My Verdict: 3.5/5
