VMX Brings Drama and Nostalgia with Creampie and Viva Hot Babes: Muling Pagbukaka

 

We attended another back-to-back VMX press conference featuring one narrative original film, Creampie, and one special content release, Viva Hot Babes: Muling Pagbukaka.

Leading the cast of Creampie is controversial actress Angel Castro, who candidly addressed the issues surrounding her career during the media conference. She responded to allegations about being a diva, shared how she deals with bashers, and spoke openly about the criticism she has received online.

The conversation also took a nostalgic turn as Angel reflected on her legendary showbiz lineage. She proudly spoke about her iconic relatives, including Gerry de Leon, Robert Arevalo, Janno Gibbs, and June Keithley, whose contributions to Philippine entertainment remain widely recognized.

Angel was equally open when discussing the film's intimate scenes. She revealed that one of the most challenging sequences to shoot was the foursome scene, explaining that the complicated blocking required multiple takes before the production team achieved the shots they wanted.

Directed by Rodante Y. Pajemna Jr., Creampie is a provocative thriller that explores desire, betrayal, manipulation, and revenge. The film stars Angel Castro, Christy Imperial, Vince Rillon, Margaret Sison, and Mark Dionisio.

Set in a quiet provincial town known for its famous creampie delicacies, the story follows Gema (Angel Castro), who relocates with her boyfriend Melvyn (Mark Dionisio). Left alone most nights, she becomes entangled in the secret affairs surrounding Julio (Vince Rillon) and the women working for him. As temptation leads to betrayal, Gema eventually joins forces with another victim, Mona (Christy Imperial), in a chilling quest for revenge.

Creampie is now streaming exclusively on VMX.

Meanwhile, the second press conference brought everyone on a trip down memory lane with Viva Hot Babes: Muling Pagbubuka, a special feature celebrating some of the most memorable moments of the original Viva Hot Babes.

Director Bobby Bonifacio Jr. shared how enjoyable it was to revisit the classic sexy films of the early 2000s. He specifically mentioned memorable campus scenes featuring Maui Taylor, as well as the rural sequences of Maui Taylor and Rica Peralejo in Hibla, which remain some of the era's most recognizable moments.

Hosting the special are Zsara Laxamana and Queenie De Mesa.

Zsara, who is part of the new VMX Hot Babes and recently released the single "Jugjog" written by Lito Camo, acknowledged that comparisons to the original Viva Hot Babes are inevitable. She said their goal is not simply to follow in the footsteps of the iconic group but to give their best and create their own identity while honoring the legacy they inherited.

Queenie, meanwhile, shared that she is only 19 years old and is just beginning her journey with VMX. She expressed her gratitude for the opportunity to take on daring roles and is excited to continue growing as an actress.

Directed by Bobby Bonifacio Jr., Viva Hot Babes: Muling Pagbukaka revisits unforgettable scenes from classic films including Sex Games, Nerisa, Sukdulan, Sex Drive, First Time, Boso, Gamitan, and Hibla, featuring original Viva Hot Babes members Maui Taylor, Katya Santos, Gwen Garci, and Sheree.

The special begins streaming exclusively on VMX on August 4, 2026.
