Directed by Sigrid Polon, the film stars Kim Yashii as Lena, Rinoa Halili as Astra, and Ghion Espinosa as Cole in a story about a young woman caught between her own desires and the overwhelming need to please the people around her.

Lena is a quiet and obedient college girl who has always lived according to the expectations of others. Curious about pleasure and intimacy, her understanding of these experiences has largely remained within the pages of the books she reads.

Her sheltered world begins to change when she meets Cole, an older and confident man who introduces her to a relationship filled with lust, validation, and attention. What initially feels exciting, however, gradually develops into a complicated dynamic that forces Lena to question how much of herself she is willing to surrender—and whether the choices she is making are truly her own.

Then comes Astra, a mature and intimidating substitute professor who sees Lena and treats her differently. As their unexpected connection grows closer behind closed doors, feelings Lena has never allowed herself to fully embrace begin to awaken.

But when secrets threaten to surface, the dynamics between Lena, Astra, and Cole begin to shift. Their relationships become increasingly complicated and manipulative, leaving Lena to confront the most important question of all: What does she truly want?

Ultimately, Spit or Swallow explores the difficult line between seeking love and acceptance and losing yourself in the process.
