A Celebration of Mothers: Prime Video Hosts Honor Thy Mother Media Conference Ahead of September 11 Launch

The highly anticipated family drama-suspense series brings together GMA Network and ABS-CBN Studios in a collaboration led by Sharon Cuneta and Barbie Forteza

Prime Video, GMA, and ABS-CBN Studios welcomed the cast and creators, as well as media, influencers, and special guests to the advance screening and media conference for Honor Thy Mother on September 8 at Solaire North. The event offered an exclusive first look at the 14- episode family drama-suspense series, a collaboration between GMA Network and ABS-CBN Studios, ahead of its global premiere on Prime Video. 

 

 

The event brought together a star-studded lineup led by Sharon Cuneta, Barbie Forteza, John Estrada, Khalil Ramos, Mercedes Cabral, and Criza Taa, alongside the show’s creators and production team. Adding a personal touch to the celebration, several cast members were joined by their mothers and daughters, bringing the event’s “Honor Thy Mother Everyday” theme to life.

During the Q&A, the cast and creators shared behind-the-scenes stories from the making of Honor Thy Mother, their experiences portraying its complex characters, and the themes that make the series deeply personal. The conversation also offered a glimpse into how their own relationships with family shaped their connection to the story and its exploration of love, sacrifice, secrets, and the ties that bind mothers and daughters.

Beyond the screening and media conference, guests were treated to a range of Mother’s Day-inspired activities designed to celebrate their family. From interactive experiences to moments shared with loved ones, the event extended the series’ themes of connection and appreciation beyond the screen.

Directed by acclaimed filmmakers Onat Diaz known for Dirty Linen (2023) and The Alibi (2025) and Dolly Dulu known for Saving Grace (2024), and produced by GMA Network and ABS-CBN Studios, Honor Thy Mother follows a powerful businesswoman (Sharon Cuneta) whose carefully ordered life is disrupted when a
determined young woman (Barbie Forteza) uncovers a life-changing truth about herself: that she is Cuneta’s long-lost daughter. As they reconnect after years apart, mother and daughter must confront family secrets, ambition, and the consequences of the past in this drama series.
