Jennifer Hudson, Fortune Feimster and Jameela Jamil talk about their Dino-Loving Adventurer Characters in “PAW PATROL: THE DINO MOVIE”, opening in PH cinemas August 26!

Plus, meet PAW Patrol pup Marshall in his own featurette!

Cal Brunker, back once again in the director’s chair for the latest PAW Patrol movie, loves dinosaurs. Working on PAW Patrol: The Dino Movie has been one of the most fun experiences he’s had while working on the franchise, because he got to learn more about dinosaurs!

“We all love dinosaurs,” shares Brunker. “But animating dinosaurs is not easy! We wanted our dinosaurs to move in a way that felt authentic, believable, and realistic, pulling everyone even deeper inside the story. So one of the coolest things about making this movie was talking to real dinosaur experts to learn exactly how the bones and muscles fit together.”

Portraying a dinosaur-loving reporter called Lilian Ledes is Academy Award-winning actress and singer Jennifer Hudson (Goat). Lilian soon gets wrapped up in the adventure on Dino Island when she not only reports on the dinosaurs – the biggest story of her career –  but she also ends up on top of one of the dinosaurs. Thankfully, the PAW Patrol is there to save her.

“It is beyond a dream to be a part of the PAW Patrol,” raves Hudson. “You didn’t have a childhood unless you grew up watching PAW Patrol! My son did. He is 16, and he is still in love with it to this day. It is an inspiring story because it has so many heroes in it, and everyone has a superpower. It teaches kids that they have one, too, and there’s always an answer and a solution by the time you get to the end.”

Meanwhile, Eugenia Bunsen (Fortune Feimster, Zootopia 2) and Heidi Pothesis (Jameela Jamil; Elio, The Good Place) have come to the island to study the miraculous dinosaurs. “I am so pumped to be in PAW Patrol,” shares Feimster. “It’s one of those films that is for everybody. It’s such a feel-good movie, and I’m finally a hit with my nephews! It is something they can watch and tell their friends about.”

Feimster also loved seeing the way her voice informed the final look of her character in the film. “When I saw Eugenia, I immediately noticed she had big, curly blond hair and resembled my essence,” she says. “That was pretty cool. I couldn’t believe this animated character was physically inspired by my voice!”

Heidi, meanwhile, works at the Paleontological Institute where she’s studying dinosaurs. “It’s so cool to be part of PAW Patrol, partially because I’m obsessed with dogs,” laughs Jamil. “Dogs are the best, and dogs are genuine heroes!”

Heidi’s on the island trying to help the pups understand the dinosaurs, but she’s flying a little close to the sun, so she, too, soon finds herself needing the pups to come to her rescue. “They become a big crew together because they’re all fighting for survival under these insane circumstances,” she says.

It is the clever combination of all the things kids love and find stimulating that makes PAW Patrol so special, according to Jamil. “Kids feel seen, and they feel as though they can see themselves in these really fun adventures,” she says. “They’re saving people as a group, and so it’s not about ego, and there’s not one superstar. Everyone has their own moment at their own separate time. It’s a lovely and important thing to demonstrate the power of people coming together, and how much more powerful the outcome is. PAW Patrol is such an iconic franchise, and all my friends, especially the ones who are parents, now think I’m very cool. Finally!”

PAW Patrol: The Dino Movie roars into cinemas August 26. The song “Bottle Up,” performed by the Backstreet Boys and co-written by Ed Sheeran, is now out! Watch the official music video and learn the dance!
