Filmmakers have only a few days left to submit their work to the Puregold CinePanalo Film Festival’s Panorama Shorts Section, with the deadline set for August 15.
The newest section of the festival aims to showcase some of the best completed yet unseen short films by Filipino filmmakers, giving finished works the opportunity to reach audiences on the big screen.
Unlike other sections of Puregold CinePanalo, Panorama Shorts will not provide production grants to its official selections. Instead, it will feature a curated lineup of fully produced short films that will have their Philippine theatrical premiere during the festival.
“The Puregold CinePanalo Film Festival remains dedicated to uplifting the voices of local artists and making their work accessible to mass audiences,” said Ivy Hayagan-Piedad, festival chair of the Puregold CinePanalo. “With the Panorama Shorts Section, we are hoping to provide a platform to excellent, completed works that are still seeking out an audience.”
The Panorama Shorts Section is open to Filipino filmmakers aged 15 and above. Eligible entries must have a maximum running time of 20 minutes and must have completed production between January 1, 2025 and July 30, 2026. All music and creative materials used in the films must be original or properly licensed for commercial use.
Selected films must not have previously had their Philippine premiere. Films that have screened abroad but have yet to be shown in the Philippines remain eligible. Student films that have only been screened on campus for thesis purposes may also be submitted.
Official selections will screen from September 23 to October 4, 2026, at Gateway Cineplex 18 and six Ayala Malls Cinemas.
One entry from the Panorama Shorts lineup will be named Best Panorama Short Film and receive a ₱100,000 cash prize during the annual Puregold CinePanalo awards night.
