Mapapanood na ang award winning short film na "As The Moth Flies" dito sa Pilipinas kung saan kasali ito sa short film competition ng Sinag Maynila Independent Film Festival 2024. Nauna rito, ang short film was well received in Europe and the United States of America and the young lady filmmaker Gayle Oblea was so excited to share the good news.
"When we're in Europe, the people really line up and they were all excited to see our film and of course all the other films na palabas dun. Iba ang pagtanggap nila sa pelikula natin. But we are more excited now that the Filipinos will be able to see it now that we are part of Sinag Maynila of Direk Brilliante Mendoza and Wilson Tieng.
The film is about mental health issues and it stars Epy Quizon and theatre actors Boo Gabunda and Mina Cruz
"Actually , our lead actress disappeared when we were doing the film during the pandemic. Of course, I panicked because we're in the middle of the film at konti na lang, tapos na kami.
"We have to reshoot and I almost cried to Kuya Epy and Kuya Alvin Anson of what happened. But Kuya Epy agreed to reshoot and telling us not to think of the talent fee. Ang importante ay makapag- reshoot kami
We have found another actress , Mina Cruz. Yesz she's a better actress than the first one. The young lady filmmaker didn't reveal who was the 1st actress. The only thing she shared is the actress got paid a huge sum of money. But eventually they patched up and everything's okey.
In the Mediacon, the 2 producers were present, Happy Manila and Rav Singh and according to them, they were satisfied with the film and witnessed how the moviegoers in Europe and the US happy and liked the film. They intend to do more quality films in the future.
After the film was shown in the Brussels Film Gestival, people from Europe, American and Filipinos came to Direk Gayle to congratulate her and thanked her for doing a beautiful film. They were all teary- eyed and some were crying. Direk Gayle naman was so touched by all the wonderful feedback and reactions on her film
Aabangan natin sa pagbubukas ng Sinag Maynila 2024 sa Sept 4 kung ganundin ang mararamdaman ng mga PINOY dito sa atin.
