Alex is a 23 year old gay girl based in Manila. She is out to most people except her best friend- Jess who she has been secretly in love with since they were kids. When Jess discovers the truth about Alex, they are forced to confront the feelings they have for each other.
Jasmine Curtis and Louise Delos Reyes embody their characters well. Kudos to the two for delivering well in the film and I think Baka Bukas is one of their best film as an actress. I fall in love in this film. Every character is well studied. I love the
screenplay, cinematography, direction and the message that they leave to the audience. A refreshing take on telling a love story, very millennial, raw and stylish. Baka Bukas is now one of my favorite film this year.
