Jaclyn Jose Wins Best Actress Award at the 69th Cannes Film Festival




The first from Southeast Asia to win the best actress award at Cannes. Jaclyn Jose won the best actress award at this year's Cannes film festival for her role in Brillante Mendoza's film, "Ma' Rosa." 

The film tells the story of a poor Manila neighborhood stall holder who sells drugs on the side with her husband to make ends meet. The couple gets arrested, leaving their four children to try and buy their parents' freedom from corrupt policemen.
