Movie Review: Singing In Graveyards

Pepe, a 68 year old impersonator of a Filipino rock legend, lives alone on the borders of reality, imagination and mysticism. One day, he’s finally given the chance to open for the rock legend’s concert but he must do something neither of them has done before - write a love song.

With outstanding rock-solid performances by Pepe Smith and Mercedes Cabral the film depicts an honest, compassionate and at times confronting portrayal of old age's devastation. Heartbreakingly sad, yet moving in a small uncertain way. The film succeeds by powerfully capturing the dark and quiet stillness that invades the completion of  the main character existence.

My Verdict: 3.5/5

Pepe Smith with filmmaker Bradley Liew
