Movie Review: You're Still The One

Ellise , a tough-spirited college student, finds herself in the company of Jojo after settling their issues involving her grades. Jojo tries to woo Ellise, but she makes it clear to him that she is not looking for a boyfriend. Years later, Ellise learns something about Jojo and gets in touch with him. They meet and the spark between them ignites once more, but Ellise gets her heart broken when Jojo confesses to her that he’s already getting married to Racquel. Jojo and Ellise decide to stay as friends, but deep inside they continue to build their feelings for each other. Ellise then becomes a lawyer and meets Vincent , who eventually falls in love with her. In the end, Ellise must choose between the right love that came in the wrong time and the wrong love that came in the right time.

What I appreciate about the film is its story, acting and the team -up of the two of the finest actor and actress in the film industry Maja Salvador and Dennis Trillo. Maja nailed her character so much starting from her college days up to the present time. I can relate to her emotional journey that she went through in her life from her family problems up to her love fiasco in the film. I can say that I shared tears with her in every down moment of her life and she could be one of the reason why you should not missed watching this film as this is one of her best performance as a lead actress in a film. And what would you expect as Ellen Adarna being part of the film is a numerous love scene that add sensual element in the film and justified the flirtatious character of Dennis. A plus in the film is Melai’s wit and Ellen’s sexiness. I also like the editing and treatment on last act of the film as it delivered for me the soul of the story. You’re Still The One is a fairly made emotional adult romance film that you may see as there’s endearment to this film that may leave you with tears and hope in love.
