Eva Candelaria (Vilma Santos) has spent ten long years meticulously
plotting her revenge against billionaire Guilly Vega (Aga Muhlach), the
man she holds responsible for her daughter's horrific murder.
With
vengeance as her driving force, Eva reinvents herself as a
sophisticated socialite to infiltrate Guilly's opulent birthday
celebration—a night destined to unravel secrets, lies, and justice long
overdue.
It is so refreshing to see this dark, brave and powerful suspense Filipino film again on the big screen. With this remarkable ensemble cast of great actors from Elijah Canlas, Gabby Padilla, up to Ketsup Eusebio, Gio Alvarez and RK Bagatsing, it is worth seeing Uninvited in the cinema. The combination of Vilma Santos, Aga Muhlach, and Nadine Lustre in challenging roles created a powerful dynamic on screen for Uninvited. Bravo to the acting showdown of the three as you will never see them in this challenging role. It’s great to see them pushing their boundaries in unique roles. Each of them take on complex roles that challenge their typical portrayals. Nadine shines with her flawless acting as the conyo girl that has been haunted by her inner past. Aga shines as the controlling and psychopathic father. Vilma gave her all as the complex and loving mother. Vilma Santos' presence deepens the role compared to your standard invincible action hero, delivering a character we want to see succeed. The film's intensity and gripping narrative seem to captivate audiences from beginning to end. The careful build-up of tension and the decent narrative deliver a thrilling ride. Uninvited is indeed an intense film that will hook you from start to finish!
My Verdict: 4/5
