Strange Frequencies: Taiwan Killer Hospital, is an adaptation from the South Korean box-office hit Gonjiam: Haunted Asylum

The Philippine adaptation is top-billed by Enrique Gil with Jane De Leon, Alexa Miro, Rob Gomez, and MJ Lastimosa.

Also joining the cast are Raf Pineda, a real-life tarot reader, and Ryan “Zarckaroo” Azurin, a video creator renowned for capturing authentic footage of some of the region’s most haunted and unusual locations.

The Filipino cast portrays amateur ghost hunters playing fictionalized versions of themselves as they venture into Taiwan’s infamous Xinglin Hospital, an abandoned site in the West Central District.

Known for its persistent paranormal activity, the hospital is considered one of the most haunted locations by locals.

The original Korean version, Gonjiam: Haunted Asylum, is a 2018 found footage horror film directed by Jung Bum-shik.

In a recent media conference for "Strange Frequencies: Taiwan Killer Hospital", the cast revealed their unique approach to filming, utilizing GoPro cameras for individual shots and participating in impromptu workshops to enhance their natural acting skills. They emphasized the importance of bonding prior to shooting at Xinglin Hospital to foster genuine chemistry among the actors. Producer Enrique Gil actively contributed to the creative process, earning praise from the cast for his collaboration. Jane De Leon's performance was highlighted as particularly impactful in conveying the film's horror elements, while Alexa Miro shared an unsettling experience post-shoot. Zarckaroo, a YouTube horror vlogger, generously offered his expertise on crafting meta found footage films.
