Local film “Meet, Greet & Bye” earns a G rating from MTRCB

THE Movie and Television Review and Classification Board (MTRCB) has given the Filipino family drama film “Meet, Greet & Bye” a G (General Audience) rating, making it suitable for viewers of all ages.

The film features “Diamond Star” Maricel Soriano, Piolo Pascual, Joshua Garcia, Belle Mariano and Juan Karlos Labajo.

Directed by Cathy Garcia-Sampana, the film delivers warmth and nostalgia through a simple, yet powerful story about family, forgiveness and the fleeting moments that define our lives.

“This film beautifully reminds us that every hello and goodbye helps shape who we are. Its heartfelt performances and genuine family values make it a story that every Filipino household can truly relate to,” said MTRCB Chairperson and CEO Lala Sotto.

Several foreign films have also received age-appropriate ratings from the MTRCB.

The American heist film, “Now You See Me: Now You Don’t,” was rated PG (Parental Guidance), suitable for viewers aged 13 and below, provided they are accompanied by a parent or supervising adult.

Also rated PG are the biographical musical drama, “Springsteen: Deliver Me from Nowhere,” which follows the life of vocalist Bruce Springsteen, and “J-Hope Tour: Hope On The Stage The Movie,” featuring South Korean rapper J-Hope.

Meanwhile, the dystopian action thriller, “The Running Man,” was rated R-13 (Restricted-13). The film takes place in a deadly game show where contestants must evade a team of hunters for 30 days to win a billion dollars.

The Japanese animated film, “Jujutsu Kaisen: 0,” was also rated R-13 for 13 and above viewers.

Sotto encouraged parents and supervising adults to engage in meaningful conversations with children when watching films.

“We encourage parents and guardians to talk with their children about the content they watch. Guided discussions help young viewers understand and appreciate stories in a healthy, responsible way,” Sotto said.
