Silong Hits Mainstream Cinemas

Star Cinema releases SQ Film Laboratories and Black Mamba Pictures independent film Silong in mainstream cinemas.

Directed by Jeffrey Hidalgo and Roy Sevilla Ho and with the story developed and script written by Roy Sevillla Ho, Silong is a romance-thriller that was first featured as the closing film of Cinemalaya XI and it stars Piolo Pascual and Rhian Ramos.

The  film is centered on Miguel Castro (Pascual), a doctor mourning the death of his wife while he saves his family's home from creditors. As he drives home one day, he finds a badly beaten and bloody Valerie (Ramos) on a deserted country road and takes her home to nurse her back to health.

It should be noted that Silong marks the first big-screen collaboration of Piolo and Rhian. Piolo is one of ABS-CBN's biggest star and Silong is the very first film that he is starring in since the blockbuster hit The Breakup Playlist where starred opposite Pop Star Princess Sarah Geronimo. Rhian on the other hand is one of the most accomplished and talented young actresses in the industry today.

Silong is a departure from the romantic dramas that Piolo starred in since 2014 and it is also Rhian's first full-length feature movie since 2012.

Silong also stars Guji Lorenzana, Angel Jacob and Raymund Concepcion.

Silong is showing in 100 theaters nationwide starting Septermber 16 2015.
