QC International Pink Film Festival 2015 Kicks-off in the City of Stars. List of Films and Festival Schedule.

Capping this year’s Quezon City Jubilee anniversary celebrations will be the staging of the country’s largest LGBT film festival. The QC International Pink Film Festival brings together world-renowned directors and actors coming from different countries. This celebrated gathering of filmmakers and artists is made possible through the initiative of the Quezon City Pride Council in partnership with the Quezon City government under the auspices of Mayor Herbert Bautista.

The Pink film festival will be held at the Gateway Cinema in the Araneta Center in Cubao, Quezon City. It opens on October 6 at Cinema 1 with a formal opening ceremony that will be attended by select movie stars both foreign and local, film producers, directors, local officials, and dignitaries.

Among the films that will be shown are winners of this year’s Berlin Film Festival TEDDY Awards—a competition for LGBT films worldwide. The program includes “El Hombre Nuevo”, winner of the Best Documentary Award, which is a film about a Sandinista child soldier in Nicaragua who would later on transition to become a transgender woman.

Special Jury Award winner, “Stories of Our Lives” from Kenya  will be shown together with films from USA, Taiwan, Kenya, Israel, Honduras, Spain, Holland among others. TEDDY Best Film winner, “Nasty Baby” (USA), will be shown as the closing film.

Philippine line-up includes new LGBT titles like “Esprit de Corps,” “Esoterika Maynila,” “Shunned,” “Pinoy Transking,” and a short film selection.

Festival Director Nick Deocampo promises a powerhouse of film lineup for this year. The QC International Pink Film Festival is part of the public education campaign of the Quezon City Pride Council on gender awareness and diversity.
