Movie Review: Me and Earl and The Dying Girl

Seventeen-year-old Greg has managed to become part of every social group at his Pittsburgh high school without having any friends, but his life changes when his mother forces him to befriend Rachel, a girl he once knew in Hebrew school who has leukemia.

Cinematically exceptional and fueled by a solid script, this movie captures its story , with remarkable performance by its young cast. I like the unique style of story telling, the look and the treatment of the filmmaker for the film. Writing and performances are consistently outstanding. The film is commendable for its visual aesthetic along with the charm of the 3 characters played by Olivia Cooke, Bobbe Thompson and Thomas Mann. This could be one of the best movie of its genre. I appreciate the simplicity of story, subtle acting of the cast and the impact that they leave to the audience that makes your heart cry out loud. Me & Earl & the Dying Girl is a touching coming of age story with sincerity and heart.

My Verdict: 4/5
