Movie Review: The Diplomat Hotel

A disgraced news reporter seeks redemption by leading his documentary crew to spend one night and tell the story of what really happened at the haunted and infamous, The Diplomat Hotel in Baguio City.

It is something new for a cinemalaya audience that finally there’s a horror film that become one of the entries. Technically maayos ang pagkakagawa ng pelikula from the editing, DOP and effects. Mahusay ang pagganap ng mga artista, starting from Ms. Gretchen Baretto, Art Acuňa up to Chanel Latorre and Joel Torre. Matatakot at kakapitan mo talaga ang story mula sa personal issues ng mga character up to the story behind the Diplomat Hotel. Kung gusto niyong matakot for this year’s Cinemalaya you may watch this film. This is an alternative film to watch to from the common theme that we usually watch in Cinemalaya.

My Verdict: 3/5
