Movie Review: El Presidente

The movie shows the life and journey of our El Presidenete Emilio Aguinaldo towards achieving the freedom of our country. It’s all started when he became government official of Cavite under Spanish leadership until he joins the KKK under the Magdalo Group then he became the president of the Himagsikan government and then we achieve the Freedom in 1898. But after that the movie also shows the struggle of Aguinaldo under the American Government and liberation of their colony in our country. The movie also shows the relationship of Aguinaldo to Andres Bonifacio and Antonio Luna.

I am very thankful and happy to watch this kind of film. This movie refreshes my mind about the history of our country and our national heroes. This movie is very recommendable for our youth today to remind them about the acts that our heroes did for our country. I hope na maiikot ang pelikulang ito sa ibat ibang school sa Pilipinas at maging medium of education in Histroy subject.
The movie is very well made. Napakalinis ng pagkakagawa, from the sound musical scoring, DOP, production design and screenplay. A surprise is Troy Montero na I think bagay sa kanya ang role as one of the American offcials. It is also good thing that Apple de ap made a theme song for this movie.

For the acting in fairness to E.R. For the other casts, Ronnie Lazaro no question a very good support, Cesar Montano mahusay din as Andres Bonifacio, Cristopher De Leon as Antonio Luna ma medyo villain yung role, Baron Geisler , bagay sa kanay yung role as mayabang na Spanish official, and Sid Lucero na talagang nagbigay ng malalim na acting as one of tauhan ni Aguinaldo. I would also like to commend the actors na nag cameo sa movie , napakarami nila , like Alvin Anson , Ian Veneracion na pawang magaling. And ofcourse for the role of Ms. Nora Aunor as 2nd wife ofAguinaldo, short role but she justify it at mahusay din niyang nagampanan. And because of that I would like to commend and congratulate the director for making this big epic period film. It really deserves a Best Picture Award for this festival.

My Verdict: 4.5/5
