A coming-of-age tale about a twelve-year-old Muslim girl named Eshal in
Marawi is set amid an age-old culture of inter-familial dispute. Rido,
as it is called, is characterized by a series of violent and fatal
retaliation to avenge a reproach or injustice-real or imaginary-among
disputing clans, crossing generations.
Totally love the message of the film told with awesome cinematography, good sound and haunting mood. Its the story about family war and acceptance and worthy of recognition it deserves The film flowed throughout the screen like relaxing water in the river with stunning
visuals that lingered longer than usual for the audience to feel its mood and tension. It's rare the we've seen this kind of film about the Moro brothers in Mindanao so I think this is an interesting film to see on this year's Cinemalaya.
My Verdict: 3.5/5
