Carlo, an unapologetically millennial college jock, thinks that Martial Law wasn’t all that bad. No one in his family had anything bad to say about it, all he’s ever read are online posts on human rights violations. Confronted by a frustrated History professor, Carlo sets out to prove he is right and looks for someone who lived through that period to tell the tale.
ML is a satisfying tense and chilling film that offers a smart storytelling in one of the important chapter in our history. Eddie Garcia rocks and tailor fit for the role. Tony Labrusca is natural and very good actor as a first timer in film. Henz and Lianne blended well with Tony and with the film. I love the balance of millennial and retro vibes of the film in terms of its treatment and music. ML is a brutally eye opening film that definitely not for the weak heart. Millennial should watch this.
My Verdict: 3.5/5
