Move Review: Miss Granny

The film is a Filipino adaptation of the 2014 South Korean blockbuster hit of the same name. In it, Sarah plays Fely, a grumpy grandmother who is magically transformed into her younger self after having her portrait taken at a photo studio. With her youth restored, she helps her grandson (James Reid) make his dreams of being a musician come true by giving his band's angry rock music a sunny 50s-pop twist.

Miss Granny is such a delight to watch and a love letter to our grandparents. It is a heartwarming story to appreciate the little things that we have in our life. Sarah Geronimo owns her character and deliver a natural performance. She will make you laugh most of the time and will got you affected on her touching performance. Same goes to Ms. Nova Villa that will remind you of your lola that was super concerned to your life. I loved James Reid’s comedy antics on this film. He shows his light side on this film and of course he’s always an eye candy. Xian Lim on the other hand is consistent on his character as a creative producer that plays an important role in the film. Overall Miss Granny is a decent adaptation that tends to be faithful to the original film and deliver a feel good crowd pleasing film.

My Verdict: 3.5/5
