In line with President Ferdinand “Bongbong” Marcos, Jr.'s efforts to bolster and promote the Philippine film and television industry while empowering Filipino families to make informed viewing choices, the Movie and Television Review and Classification Board (MTRCB), together with key government agencies, is set to launch the “Tara, Nood Tayo!” infomercial.
This initiative reflects the administration’s vision for a Bagong Pilipinas—a nation marked by informed and responsible media consumption.
On 12 November 2024, the MTRCB, the Presidential Communications Office (PCO), the Philippine Information Agency (PIA) and the Office of the Executive Secretary (OES) formally signed a Memorandum of Agreement (MOA) for the production of the “Tara, Nood Tayo!” infomercial at the New Executive Building, Malacañang Palace, Manila.
MTRCB Chairperson and CEO Lala Sotto-Antonio, PCO Acting Secretary Dr. Cesar B. Chavez, PIA Director-General Ms. Kath De Castro and OES Assistant Secretary Jomar Canlas were present at the signing ceremony.
Sotto-Antonio said this collaboration seeks to uplift both the film and TV industry and Filipino families by promoting the selection of age-appropriate content.
“Our coming together embodies our collective commitment to shape a media landscape that resonates with President Marcos, Jr.'s vision for a Bagong Pilipinas, where citizens are discerning, empowered and responsible,” said Chair Sotto-Antonio. “Together, we strive to empower every Filipino family to choose age-appropriate, value-rich content that reflects their ideals and fosters positive growth.”
Sotto-Antonio emphasized the campaign of not only to inform but to uplift our partners in television and film industry, promoting the creation and appreciation of local content that entertains, educates and inspires.
Under the MOA, the “Tara, Nood Tayo!” infomercial also aims to strengthen partnerships with media industry stakeholders and motivate Filipino audiences to support locally produced movies and television programs.
The “Tara, Nood Tayo!” infomercial will be shown in TV and movie theaters prior to screening times and will be available on social media platforms, digital media and traditional broadcast media.
“To our partners—the PCO, PIA, and OES—thank you for your unwavering trust and collaboration. Your support magnifies the reach and impact of this initiative,” Sotto-Antonio concluded.
