The Movie and Television Review and Classification Board (MTRCB) has released its latest age-appropriate ratings for films showing this week.
“Wicked,” the first of a two-part adaptation of the stage musical starring American pop icon Ariana Grande and British actress Cynthia Erivo, was rated PG (Parental Guidance) by Board Members (BMs) JoAnn Bañaga, Eloisa Matias and Neal Del Rosario.
“PG” advises parents and supervising adults to accompany those under 13 years old when viewing films.
Also earning PG ratings are “Conclave,” which tackles complex moral and political issues within the Catholic Church, and “Highlight,” a musical featuring the famous Korean band Highlight.
Rated R-13 (Restricted-13) was Indonesia’s “Kang Mak,” a remake of Thai horror comedy blockbuster “Pee Mak,” which allows only viewers aged 13 and above and was reviewed by BMs Jerry Talavera, Juan Revilla and Frances Hellene Abella.
“We encourage parents and supervising adults to guide younger audiences, helping them to become a responsible viewer, so they can make informed choices as they enjoy the diverse offerings in our cinemas,” MTRCB Chairperson and CEO Sotto-Antonio said.
