A comedy/horror movie from Indonesia is showing in Philippine cinemas this November.
“Kang Mak”, which is a remake of a Thai blockbuster movie called“Pee Mak”, tells the story of Makmur, a soldier whose main motivation to survive the war is to come home to his pregnant wife, Sari. He fights alongside Supra, Fajrul, Jaka, and Solah, and their shared experiences have made them vow to become friends for life.
Makmur’s most awaited homecoming finally arrives, and he is thrilled to find out that Sari has already given birth. His friends rejoice with him. However, their delight turns to fright when one of the friends stumbles upon a dead body that looks exactly like Sari. It turns out that Sari is actually dead, and they are in the company of a wandering spirit!
Supra, Fajrul, Jaka and Solah try everything to tell Makmur the truth about his wife, but she also has ways to stop them. Viewers will be pleased to see that, as the anxiety level felt by Makmur’s friends intensifies, the hilarity of their situation also keeps building up.
The chemistry between the actors is notable, and critics agree that “Kang Mak” is an “interesting and incredible” film. It stars one of Indonesia’s top comedians, Indro Warkop, and real-life husband and wife Vino Bastian and Marsha Timothy.
Don’t miss this spooky yet funny movie directed by Herwin Novianto. “Kang Mak” opens in cinemas nationwide on November 20, 2024.
