Something Eerie is Coming To Cinemas This March

Eerie, which premiered at the Singapore International Film Festival last December 2018, marks Bea's first horror film project and a follow-up to Charo's acting comeback in 2016 with the Lav Diaz film 'Ang Babaeng Humayo'.
"What a great honor to be doing it with THE Charo Santos", says Bea. "She has not done a horror movie since 'Itim' back in the late 70's. I can't even begin to tell you how overwhelming this is."

"What makes it interesting is that it's horror script, but it also tackles important issues about doctrine and science, faith and logic. It puts two complex characters who stand on opposite grounds," Charo shares.

Eerie is also Red's first  horror flick. He became well-known after directing 'Birdshot' an award-wining film released three years. ago.

"It was my first time doing horror, and when I want to approach a genre for the first time, I base it on a lot of ideas I gathered from my research of horror films," he says.

With young and award winning director Mikhail Red at the helm, Eerie follows the mystery behind the students' death in Sta. Lucia Academy, a conservative, all-girls, Catholic high school. As Pat (Alonzo), the guidance counselor, tries to solve the case, she suspects the culprit to be the school's financial overseer Sol Alice (Santos).

The key witness who can provide answers to the haunting string of deaths is the ghost of Eri,  a student who committed suicide on the school grounds more than a decade ago.

Can Pat solve the mystery or will Sor Alice prevent her from the truth? Will the girls be saved?

Joining the cast of Eerie are Jake Cuenca, Maxene Magalona-Mananquil, Gillian Vicencio, Mary Joy Apostol and, Gabby Padilla.

Produced by ABS-CBN Films - Star Cinema and Cre8 Productions, Eerie opens on March 27th in Philippine cinemas with simultaneous international screenings across Southeast Asia, which is a first for a Filipino film.
