The ABS-CBN Film Restoration Project has announced its lineup for its forthcoming REELive the Classics, the initative’s annual film fest showcasing digitally restored and remastered classic Filipino films. This year’s iteration celebrates the Centennial Year of Philippine Cinema.
The event is set to premiere two new restorations. First, Pepe Wenceslao’s 1973 take on Captain Barbell, which cast Dolphy as the eponymous superhero. There’s also Gimik: The Reunion, the 1999 film event considered by many Filipinos as the ultimate barkada movie.
