Regal Entertainment continues its strong streak of delivering compelling and relevant stories with Project Baby, its upcoming romantic dramedy that is already making waves ahead of its June 10 theatrical release.
We were invited to cover the film’s official mediacon, where the cast and creators opened up about the timely themes tackled in the movie — from women empowerment and society’s double standards toward women to the realities and responsibilities that come with parenthood.
Directed by Eric Quizon and written by Joey Javier Reyes, Project Baby stars Sue Ramirez as Sandy, a successful advertising agency founder who has spent her life carefully building the career she always wanted. Yet despite all her accomplishments, she feels there is still one thing missing — a child of her own.
Determined to take control of her future, Sandy launches “Project Baby,” a step-by-step plan to have a child on her own terms. The challenge? Finding the perfect baby daddy with no strings attached. That is until she meets Migo, played by Rico Blanco, an emotionally grounded artist who unexpectedly becomes the ideal candidate.

What begins as a carefully planned arrangement soon becomes more complicated as emotions enter the picture, forcing both characters to confront whether life can truly be mapped out according to plan.
During the mediacon, the cast candidly shared their thoughts on how the film could open important conversations surrounding women’s choices, societal expectations, and the double standards often imposed on women when it comes to family planning.
When asked whether there was ever a point in her life when she considered having a child without a partner, Sue admitted that the thought had crossed her mind. However, she emphasized that she eventually realized how major and life-changing the responsibility of parenthood truly is.
Rico, on the other hand, revealed that while he had jokingly encountered similar conversations in the past, he never seriously entertained the idea. For him, fatherhood is a profound responsibility that should be shared with someone he genuinely loves.
